Spoleto Festival A History of Tango in Two Acts Charleston Music Hall, 37 John Street This year QuinTango brings you more... more music, more history and more dance! The award-winning quintet—along with breathtaking tango dancers—will take you from tango’s rough and humble beginnings to its emergence as the most sensual music and dance on the world stage today. Join us for the premier of QuinTango’s A History of Tango in Two Acts, a show so big that it takes two performances to complete! “From the Barrio to the Golden Age” showcases classic tango, complete with knife fighters and Latin lovers. “Piazzolla’s Revolt!” spotlights tango from 1950 to the present…brash, seductive and thumbing its nose at the dance halls of yesteryear. Each show will be performed twice for a total of four performances. Seen as a two-performance package, A History of Tango in Two Acts will leave you in awe of the depth and beauty of Tango’s tradition. Performances may be attended singly or in either order. “Makes every part of your anatomy move…QuinTango is downright wonderful…talk about a great evening!” (Robert Jones, The Post and Courier). Act I: "From the Barrio to the Golden Age" will be performed on Thursday June 8 and Saturday June 10. Act II: "Piazzolla’s Revolt!" will be performed on Friday June 9 and Sunday June 11. Acts may be seen in either order or singly. Dancers are included in both programs. Please join us. You can purchase your tickets three ways:
Tickets are $25. Please note that Ticketmaster charges a service fee of $5.50 per ticket. There is no service fee for tickets purchased in person at the Piccolo Box Office.
