QuinTango and Black Star Farms are partnering up to bring you a Buenos-Aires style dinner show that does not require a 15-hour flight. QuinTango, whose two appearances at the US Ambassador’s residence in Buenos Aires prompted the Ambassador’s toast, “Tonight you conquered Buenos Aires!,” will be joined by Buenos Aires dancer Victor Rua Espada whose dance steps and cultural insights open this glamorous summer night show. Sharing top billing is a 3-course dinner from Black Star Farms renowned chef, John Korycki. Think bubbles, red wine, mouth-watering steak and dulce de leche desserts. Tonight’s the night to pull out all the stops! That dress you wondered if you should pack? If you brought it, tonight’s the night! Black Star Farms Winery 10844 E. Revold Rd, Suttons Bay MI |
Educate and entertain!
QuinTango in concert. One of Michigan’s top museums is the perfect setting for an evening of original and classic tangos intimately presented and passionately performed. Featuring music of Astor Piazzolla and Emmanuel Trifilio, the group’s Argentine bandoneon player and Grammy-nominated composer, plus arrangements by bassist and singer-songwriter Ali Cook, this is the event for serious concert goers seeking insights into the history and music of tango. A phenomenon that grows annually, tango now shows up in classical programming, Olympic ice dancing, local ballroom studio offerings, film scores, and commercials. Tango was awarded World Cultural Heritage status from the UN in 1993. Chamber tango combines classical chops, jazz harmonies, and tango’s passion so seamlessly that fans of all three genres are at home from the first chord. Why We're Celebrating: Veinte años no es nada
Two decades of music-making have taken us to the White House, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, tours in Costa Rica, Guatemala, France, Italy, and performances with orchestras in Mexico, Kansas, California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina. We have spent memorable weeks in community residencies in Iowa, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Virginia and ten years at Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival. We have developed strong partnerships with the Virginia Commission for the Arts, Washington Performing Arts, and our home base of Alexandria. We have performed for presidents, ambassadors, film stars, and – most memorably – thousands of school children and audiences across America.
|
Along the way we have made wonderful friends who are now part of the QuinTango family. Whether you travel overseas with us (our 8th international Fans & Friends tour is in September), attend our annual StringTango youth concerts, or get your QuinTango fix by listening to a CD or QuinTango Radio on Pandora or by streaming us on Spotify, you are a huge part of what has kept us going for twenty years. We want to celebrate together! I promise it will be a memorable and moving concert in a magnificent room. Please come be a part of this special afternoon and share a champagne toast to tangos and friendship.
